Hola VPN is a popular choice for consumers looking for a VPN to avoid website bans, with “over 230 million people worldwide” using it.
One of the more well-known VPN brand names is Hola. Since its establishment in 2012, Hola Networks Ltd., an Israel-based company, has amassed over 230 million users. It bills itself as the world's first peer-to-peer VPN, but we don't think that's a good thing.
Hola undermines its consumers' safety via many insecure tactics, rather than giving a paid service financed by premium users.
To begin with, Hola requires users to share their bandwidth. By connecting to a Hola-operated overseas server, you will not be able to hide your IP address. You'll be using someone else's IP address, while someone else will be using yours.
Hola prides itself on its peer-to-peer business strategy. But does this add any value to users, or is it simply a low-cost move that helps the firm while putting you at risk?
